기흉

- 기흉[pneumothorax]이란 한자로 '공기'라는 의미의 '기(氣)'와 '가슴'이라는 의미의 '흉(胸)'자가 합쳐진 말로가슴 속에 공기가 찼다는 의미입니다. 사람은 두 개의 폐가 양쪽 가슴 속 빈 공간(흉강)에들어차 있는데, 어떤 원인으로 인해 빈 공간에 공기가 들어가 폐를 찌그러뜨리면서 흉통과호흡 곤란 등의 증상을 일으키는 상태를 말합니다.
