Abstract

In the era of big data platforms, Health Insurance Review & Assessment Service (HIRA), which has strengths in this field, is expected totlav increase its role naturally. At these times, it is important for HIRA to focus more on performing its unique role than on identifying opportunities for new growth engines. HIRA should strive to improve the user-centricity of the information provided by HIRA. In addition, along with the work related to health insurance and benefits, HIRA should play an active role in supporting government healthcare policies. It is needed to improve flexibly drug benefit standards to reflect the latest trends in drug development and changes in disease patterns. And the HIRA should strengthen support for health care providers to make their claims accurate. To this end, if HIRA expands communication and cooperation with the private sector based on trust and openness, it is expected to contribute to the development of medical care in Korea.
