건강하고 지속 가능한 의료생태계 조성을 위한 건강보험심사평가원의 역할

Abstract

As part of the social security program in Korea, the national health insurance system has been adopted since 1989. In accordance with the constitution that "all citizens are protected by the state in health", medical services funded by the national health care system are provided to all people in the nation. Due to an aging population and an increase in medical uses, reduction in total medical costs and paying medical service fees through proper evaluation have become important issues in the Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service (HIRA). The value of HIRA could aim to keep the health insurance system sustainable in harmony with improving the quality of health care in healthcare institutions, increasing the convenience of people to use medical services, and operating proper review and assessment system.
