보건의료 환경 변화에 대응하는 건강보험심사평가원의 역할

Abstract

Since Health Insurance Review & Assessment Service (HIRA) emphasized only fairness and expertise, they did not sufficiently reflect the reality of medical care, and failed to reinforce opportune communication with the medical community, thereby losing trust in the medical field. Especially after the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) outbreak, there were many changes in the health care environment. Considering COVID-19 pandemic, the role of HIRA should change from simply screening and review to practically meeting the demands deriving from changes in the medical field. Moreover, the fact that HIRA manage personal information and data of all patients implies that it should take caution and secure them while utilizing the data and Drug Utilization Review (DUR). Korean Medical Association suggests HIRA respond to changes and demands of health care field and communicate timely with medical community.
